Welcome to Touch Typing Now!, the typing course designed to get you touch typing properly within 10 hours.
Throughout the course you will be assisted and guided by your personal ‘on screen’ interactive video teacher. From the very start your teacher gives you easy to follow instructions on how to touch type and continues to help you as you progress through the 19 lessons.
Touch Typing NoW! doesn’t throw you in at the deep end. It draws you in gradually, giving you a thorough grounding in correct finger placement and teaching you to locate the various keys without having to look at the keyboard. Your teacher tells you when you make mistakes and what you are doing incorrectly, as well as offering tips and suggestions on how to improve your general typing skills.
To help you monitor your progress, a record is kept of every lesson and test you take. At any stage you can call up a complete analysis of your progress to date to see how your typing speed and accuracy are developing.
Apart from the basic lessons, Touch Typing NoW! offers a number of features that make learning to type more effective and fun. Among these are games and on-line chat sessions over the Internet, requiring you to use your newly learned typing skills. These options are explained in detail in the Overview of the Sub-Menus section of this manual, as well as in the Help section on the screen.
If you are a first-time computer user, or unfamiliar with courses like this, don’t worry. All the main screen options such as sound, screen keyboard operation, type of keyboard and so on are set to ‘normal’ when you first start the course. You can change them later to suit your preferences.
Important features, such as the various tests, are explained by your interactive teacher as you progress through the lessons. We recommend that you spend time viewing these features and options as you work your way through the course.
